The objective of this project is systematic registration of land in eight rural districts of Lao PDR in the provinces Houaphan, Oudomxay, Sayaboury, and Xieng Khouang, as well enhance service delivery of land administration through strengthening of capacities at provincial level.

Landnetwork GmbH supports with the Team Leader position as well as with expertise in conflict resolution, data quality and field software development.
Agricultural land adjacent to forest areas - adequate environmental and social safeguards need to be put in place to avoid negative impacts of systematic land registration and titling
Participatory mapping exercise with the population and authorities to balance the diversity of interests in the future use of land and the securing of land rights
Previously, boundary markers like the one in the picture were used in Laos - due to unexploded ordnance (UXO) in rural areas and the use of modern GNSS technology for parcel surveying, the use of markers was discontinued by the government
